Fiorentina have confirmed the arrival of former Bayern Munich winger Franck Ribery on a free transfer.
Ribery has been out of contract since being released by Bayern at the end of last season.
The former France international was fielded plenty of offers from around the world but has opted to join Fiorentina.
Ribery is the second high profile arrival at Fiorentina this summer following Kevin Prince-Boateng’s move from Barcelona.
The Viola have been very active in the transfer window in a bid to avoid another disastrous campaign.
Fiorentina finished only three points clear of relegation last term after concluding the season without a win in their last 14 games.
Ribery, who is expected to sign a two-year deal with Fiorentina and given permission to bring in his personal physio, has struggled with injuries during the latter stages of his career.
The 36-year-old has not started at least 20 league matches in a single-campaign since the 2012/13 campaign (24 starts).
Ribery has scored at least five league goals in eight of the last nine league seasons, only failing to do so in 2015/16 when he managed just 13 Bundesliga appearances.
