Tottenham consider move for Hull defender

Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino is interested in making a move for the significantly cheaper Harry Maguire instead of sought after centre-backs Ben Gibson and Michael Keane, reports The London Evening Standard.

Pochettino is keen to sign another centre-back this summer with a view to making a back three system their regular formation and has previously been touted with an interest in Middlesbrough defender Gibson and former Manchester United youngster Keane.

However, both Gibson and Keane have been linked with a number of their main rivals this summer and a move for Maguire would not only be less complicated but cheaper than the aforementioned duo.

Maguire is expected to leave Hull at the end of the season regardless of whether they can beat the drop when he will have just 12 months left to run on his existing deal.
