Arda Turan could still be loaned out by Barcelona in order to gain some much-needed playing time, according to club president Josep Maria Bartomeu.
Despite their transfer ban, Arda became Barcelona's second summer signing, but, like Aleix Vidal - who signed from Sevilla - he is unable to turn out competitively for his new team until 2015.
The Turkey international had previously quashed suggestions that he would go out on loan in order to maintain match fitness, but Bartomeu has hinted that the former Atletico Madrid star could indeed secure a short term move for the remainder of the calendar year.
"It is a possibility," Bartomeu said on Spanish radio station RAC1 when quizzed on whether Arda may be loaned out this summer.
"But the final decision must be made by coach Luis Enrique and it must be a purely technical decision.
"It must be a team not playing in the Champions League."
Chelsea, Manchester United and Liverpool had been credited with an interest in Arda before he secured his move to Barcelona and the trio could look to take the Turkish attacker on loan before the new season gets underway.
