Belgium head coach Marc Wilmots believes leaving Chelsea for Real Madrid would benefit Eden Hazard, according to the Daily Telegraph.
Hazard, who was named PFA Player of the Year last season, has endured a tough start to the new campaign and is reportedly looking to force a move away from Stamford Bridge at the end of the season despite signing a new five-year deal at the club less than six months ago.
The Chelsea N.10 has been dropped for the starting XI and publically bashed by manager Jose Mourinho in the last seven days and Wilmots is, privately, believed to be championing a move to Madrid.
The La Liga giants have been long-term admirers of Hazard since he made the move to Chelsea in 2012 and the move could be plausible if reports that suggest Cristiano Ronaldo will leave for Paris Saint-Germain in the summer are to be believed.
According to the Daily Telegraph, Wilmots believes Hazard is danger of suffering from burnout under Mourinho at Chelsea and the lighter work load and freedom at Madrid would only allow Hazard to reach the next level in his development as one of the best players in Europe.
Since making the switch from Lille, the 24-year-old has completed at least 149 more dribbles than any other player in the Premier League (401). He has also played a direct hand in at least 32 more goals than any of his Chelsea teammates during this time (66).
