Leicester manager Claudio Ranieri has told potential admirers of Jamie Vardy and Riyad Mahrez to look elsewhere following their dazzling start to the season.
The Foxes’ forward duo have been two of the standout performers in the Premier League thus far and have been integral to Leicester’s rip-roaring start to the new campaign, which sees them sit just one point outside the top four after nine matches.
Impressive performances court attention and Ranieri has already moved to dismiss suggestions either could leave in the January transfer window.
“No, we don’t sell him,” Ranieri is quoted as saying by Sky Sports News when questioned about his star duo.
“He is very happy here It’s too early to speak about it. He stays with us. Nobody goes in January – not Jamie, not Riyad, nobody. We need our best players to improve.”
The duo are ranked among the top three WhoScored rated players in the Premier League this season with Mahrez topping the tree (8.36 rating). Vardy, on the other hand, has scored at least three more league goals than any other player in England’s top-flight this season (9).
