Real Madrid ready to offer AC Milan Navas for Donnarumma
Real Madrid are prepared to include Keylor Navas in a deal to sign Gianluigi Donnarumma from AC Milan this summer, reports Sport Mediaset, via Football Italia.
The European champions ended their pursuit of Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea over a week ago after placing their faith in Navas for another season, a decision that also appeared to kill any potential move for Donnarumma.
However, Milan announced on Thursday that Donnarumma has made it clear he will not sign another deal with the club and that has put Madrid on alert for the 18-year-old.
The Italy international’s current deal is due to expire at the end of next season and Milan must now decide whether to sell the teenager this summer or let him go for free in 12 months.
Despite their earlier stance, Madrid do not feel they can miss out on an opportunity like this and are even willing to use Navas as a makeweight having previously been preparing a €30m (£26.3m) package.
Donnarumma enjoyed a sensational first full campaign for Milan last season but was only willing to pledge his future to his boyhood club if they agreed to include a release clause in his new contract, which they were not.
In fact, Donnarumma finished the season in the WhoScored team of the season in Europe’s top five leagues (7.05).
