Roma set to reward injured star new deal

Roma are set to reward Kevin Strootman with a contract extension despite his grim injury record, according to Gazzetta World.

Strootman, 25, already looks set to miss the remainder of the season after undergoing his third knee surgery in September.

However, Roma are looking to back their Dutch midfielder by offering him an extension on his current deal that runs until 2018, despite hardly turning out for the Giallorossi in the last two years.

In fact, since the start the 2013/14 campaign, Strootman has only started in 34% of Roma’s Serie A games (28).
