Arsenal ponder selling Ozil in January

Arsenal manager Unai Emery is increasingly turning to the idea of selling Mesut Ozil next month, claims The Sun.

Ozil has missed Arsenal’s last five matches with a back injury and has fallen out of favour with Emery on more than one occasion this season.

Reports emerged at the end of last week suggesting Serie A giants Inter are interested in signing Ozil from Arsenal in January.

Ozil only signed a lucrative new contract in January and shifting his wages could prove hugely problematic for Arsenal.

Despite the fact no team will match Ozil’s reported £350,000-a-week wages, Arsenal are still holding out for a fee in the region of £25m.

The 30-year-old has scored three goals in 10 league appearances this season, only one shy of his total in 26 league games last term.

However, Arsenal have only won half of those games and are unbeaten in the six Premier League matches he has not started this season.
