Juventus fail with €75m bid for Real Madrid midfielder
Juventus have had a bid worth €75m (£68.8m) rejected for Real Madrid midfielder Mateo Kovacic, reports AS, via Football Italia.
The Serie A champions signed Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Blaise Matuidi on Friday but it has now emerged Max Allegri’s side failed in their attempts to bring Kovacic back to Italy.
Kovacic spent nearly two years in Serie A before joining Madrid from Inter in 2015, but the Croatia international has struggled to establish himself as a first team regular in that time.
The 23-year-old is now starting to emerge as a key player for Zinedine Zidane and the reigning European champions have even rejected a huge bid from Juventus for his services.
Of players that have attempted at least 25 dribbles in La Liga since the start of last season, Kovacic has the best dribble success rate (81.1%).
