Arsenal interested in £18m-rated MLS sensation

Arsenal are interested in Atlanta United ace Miguel Almiron but face competition from long-term admirers Inter, report Calciomercato.

Almiron has established himself as one of the most exciting players in MLS since leaving Argentinean side Lanus to join Atlanta 10 months ago for a deal in the region of £10m.

The Paraguay international has missed Atlanta’s last three matches with a hamstring injury but remains a target for Arsenal, who are in the market for a new midfielder following the departure of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain over the summer.

With Mesut Ozil out of contract at the end of the season, Wenger may need to find another player that can operate in behind the striker, which is where Almiron plays most of the time.

Almiron has played a direct hand in 17 goals in 29 MLS appearances this season, while only Maximiliano Moralez (11) has created more clear-cut chances than the Atlanta No.10 (10).
