Newcastle United have interested in signing Torino captain Kamil Glik, according to the Newcastle Chronicle, via Football Italia.
Glik, 28, still has more than four years remaining on his current deal with Torino and is expected to play a big part in any success Poland are to have in the Euros in the summer.
Newcastle are reportedly interested in signing the central defender and are expected to pay close attention to his performances in France this summer, although Torino will not want to lose one of their most senior faces in the dressing room.
Of players to have started in at least 10 Serie A matches this season, only two players have a higher pass success rate than Glik (89%). Discipline has proven a problem of late for the Torino captain, however.
In fact, only one player has picked up more bookings in Serie A this season than Glik (10), with seven of those coming in his last 10 outings.
