Atalanta ace flattered by Chelsea interest

Franck Kessie has admitted that he is flattered by interest linking him with a move to Premier League leaders Chelsea.

The 20-year-old was strongly linked with a move to the Blues last month, while Roma are also believed to be in the race to secure his services.

Arsenal and Manchester United have also taken a liking to the Ivory Coast international and Kessie is gladdened by rumours suggesting Chelsea are keen on the Atalanta star.

“I am very flattered that clubs of this level are interested in me,” Kessie is quoted as saying by the London Evening standard.

"This proves that I’m having a good season, that I continue to progress. I don’t want to go too fast.

“I don’t know if my club has received any offers. I’m under contract. We’ll see if we need to discuss anything.

“I like Bergamo. The city is nice, quiet, and I appreciate life in Italy, where I was well received.”

The youngster has scored an impressive six league goals this season, a return bettered only by Marek Hamsik (9) of all central midfielders in Serie A this term.
