Tottenham open to sale of on-loan defender

Newcastle are eyeing up a permanent move for on-loan left-back Danny Rose, with Tottenham willing to sell the England international, reports I Sport.

The 29-year-old joined Newcastle on loan from Spurs in January and made four starts for the Magpies following his arrival prior to the Coronavirus pandemic, which has halted football.

Rose arrived along with former Spurs teammate Nabil Bentaleb and Valentino Lazaro and his form under Steve Bruce has already convinced the Newcastle boss to pursue a permanent deal.

It is likely that loan deals will be extended to end when the current campaign does, so Rose will be plying his trade at Newcastle for some time yet.

And with Spurs open to selling the former Leeds man, it's a boost for the Magpies as they begin early preperations for the coming campaign.

Rose does not feature in Jose Mourinho's plans in north London and a lack of regular game time would harm his Euro 2021 chances next summer

It's believed that Rose has quickly settled in at Newcastle and he'd likely welcome the opportunity to remain at St. James' Park beyond his current loan deal.
