West Ham plan summer move for Arsenal midfielder

West Ham are keen to secure the services of Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere at the end of the season, reports the Sun.

The England international is currently spending the season on loan with Bournemouth, but hasn’t started a league fixture for the Cherries since the 2-1 loss at West Brom at the beginning of February.

West Ham are prepared to spend £30m to sign the 25-year-old permanently in the summer as manager Slaven Bilic looks to bolster his midfield options.

Wilshere, whose contract expires in 2018, has been offered a new deal by Arsenal, but is wary that a lack of game time would hinder his chances of a return to the England national team.

The Hammers, meanwhile, are keen to land a marquee signing and a creative replacement for Frenchman Dimitri Payet, who left West Ham for Marseille 18 months after leaving the French side for London.

Arsenal still believe they can command a top fee for Wilshere, despite he coming into the final year of his contract, with a host of Premier League teams keen on the English midfielder.

Wilshere has impressed for Bournemouth under Eddie Howe this season, yet the player himself has hinted that he would favour a return to London.
