Sanchez to Manchester United dependent on Mkhitaryan, says Raiola
Mino Raiola has revealed Manchester United’s hopes of signing Alexis Sanchez from Arsenal hinge on his client Henrikh Mkhitaryan.
Mkhitaryan was left out of the United squad for Monday’s 3-0 win over Stoke and Jose Mourinho admitted it was due to uncertainty over his future at the club.
United have already agreed terms with Sanchez but are now waiting for Mkhitaryan to do the same with Arsenal before a deal can be completed and Raiola has confirmed a deal hinges on the Armenian.
“Manchester United are not going to sign Sanchez unless Mkhi agrees to join Arsenal,” Raiola told The Times.
“Mkhi is going to do what is best for him. He has two-and-a-half years left on his contract [at United], so it’s his decision.
“Sanchez is part of the Mkhi deal, not the other way round.”
Mkhitaryan has fallen completely out of favour at Old Trafford in recent months, featuring in just six of United’s last 16 matches in all competitions.
The 28-year-old has registered five Premier League assists for United this season, but hasn’t assisted a team-mate since August.
