Real Madrid goalkeeper to be offered to Manchester United

Real Madrid goalkeeper Keylor Navas will be offered to Manchester United this summer, claims The Daily Telegraph.

United currently do not know who will be their first choice goalkeeper next season due to the uncertainty around David de Gea’s future at the club.

De Gea will only have 12 months left to run on his existing contract this summer and United are no closer to making a breakthrough in talks.

United are prepared to make De Gea the best-paid goalkeeper in the world but are not willing to match his £350,000-a-week wage demands.

Paris Saint-Germain will test United’s resolve for De Gea with a £60m bid this summer if Gianluigi Buffon decides to retire at the end of the season.

United are determined to keep De Gea but will be offered the chance to sign Navas if they are forced to cash in on the Spaniard.

Navas could have joined United in 2015 when Madrid were in talks to sign De Gea from the Red Devils but a deal sensationally collapsed on deadline day.

The Costa Rica international has regained his place in goal since Zinedine Zidane’s return as Madrid coach but will reportedly be free to leave in the summer.

Of goalkeepers that have made more than five appearances in La Liga this season, only three have a better save success rate than Navas (75%).
