Juventus ready to sell Aaron Ramsey after one season

Juventus are open to selling former Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey after just one season at the club, claims The Daily Mail.

Ramsey turned down interest from Premier League sides to join Juventus on a free transfer at the end of last season.

The Wales international, who has previously been linked to Manchester United, has endured a torrid maiden campaign with Juventus.

Injuries and general struggles under Maurizio Sarri have limited Ramsey to just nine league starts and a further six appearances from the bench in Serie A this season.

Every club in Europe is working off reduced budgets this summer as a result of the Coronavirus pandemic and Juventus are looking to trim their squad in order to raise funds.

Miralem Pjanic has already been linked with a move to Barcelona and now Juventus are not opposed to cashing in on Ramsey after just one season at the club.

However, Ramsey's wages will prove hugely problematic in Juventus' attempt to offload the 29-year-old.

Ramsey joined Juventus for the challenge of playing for one of the biggest sides in Europe but also in part because of the £400,000-a-week salary he was offered.

Due to the fact, Juventus signed Ramsey on a free transfer they were able to offer the Welshman eye-watching wages but that could now come back to bite them.

No club in Europe will be willing to match Ramsey's salary or anywhere close to it, leaving Juventus with the prospect of paying a portion of it to tempt potential buyers.

Ramsey's best performance for Juventus to date actually came in the club's last match before lockdown, with the midfielder playing a direct hand in both goals in a 2-0 win over Inter.
