AC Milan striker wants Marseille move

AC Milan striker Carlos Bacca has told Marseille he wants to join the Ligue 1 side this summer after being deemed surplus to requirements under Vincenzo Montella.

Bacca’s days at Milan look numbered following the arrival of Andre Silva, who was made the club’s second most expensive signing of all-time, and Fabio Borini this summer, while the Serie A giants are reportedly still looking to sign Fiorentina striker Nikola Kalinic.

The Colombia international has heavily linked with a move away from Milan all year and the 30-year-old has now informed Rudi Garcia’s side he’d like to join the club, although there are reservations on the Marseille side of the table.

Marseille are weary that Milan will look to recoup all of £21m they shelled out to bring Bacca to San Siro from Sevilla two years ago and are looking at alternative options for the time being.

Garcia’s side need to sign a new striker after Galatasaray signed Bafetimbi Gomis from Swansea following his successful return to France last season. In the last two Serie A campaigns, Bacca is the only Milan player that has reached double figures for goals (31).
