Bayern Munich starlet Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg has joined Schalke on a season-long loan deal, the Bundesliga champions have announced.
Hojbjerg, 20, is highly-rated by head coach Pep Guardiola but has been sent on loan to their league rivals to gain more first-team action.
Despite being highly thought of by Guardiola, the Danish international has only made 15 appearances in the Bundesliga for Bayern since the former Barcelona manager took control in 2013.
He spent part of last season on loan at Augsburg, where he made 16 appearances and the youngster will now spend the rest of the season farmed out to Schalke.
