Aston Villa want Mings and Lolley

Aston Villa want to make Tyrone Mings’ stint at the club permanent and sign Nottingham Forest winger Joe Lolley, claims Sky Sports.

Dean Smith’s side are expected to be one of the busiest clubs in the summer transfer window after securing promotion to the Premier League through the play-offs.

Villa used the loan market to their advantage in the Championship this season but that could now leave them short in a number of positions.

It’s unclear whether Smith’s side will re-sign Tammy Abraham and Axel Tuanzebe from Chelsea and Manchester United, respectively, but they are keen to get a deal over the line for Mings.

The towering centre-back was immense for Villa this season and is unlikely to have any clear route to the Bournemouth first-team next season.

Villa have already been linked with a club-record move for Brentford forward Neal Maupay and it is now being reported that Smith wants to raid Nottingham Forest for Lolley.

The 26-year-old was one of the standout performers in the Championship this season and is rated at around £10m.

Lolley registered double figures for goals (11) and assists (11) in the Championship for Forest this season and completed more dribbles than any other player in the division (110).
