Everton are confident they have fended off competition from Sevilla and Tottenham to sign Malaga frontman Sandro Ramirez, reports The Independent.
Ramirez has been in sublime form for Malaga since joining the Spanish side from Barcelona on a free transfer last summer.
However, the Spaniard had a £5.1m release clause included in his contract when he joined Malaga and Michel’s side will ultimately be powerless in keeping the forward at the club over the summer.
Sevilla, Tottenham and Atletico Madrid have all reportedly expressed an interest in Ramirez but Ronald Koeman was spotted at La Rosaleda to watch Ramirez during their 3-0 win over Celta Vigo last weekend and the Everton manager has stepped up his interest since then.
Ramirez will reportedly be handed a huge contract and has also been offered assurances that there will be significant investment in the Everton squad over the summer, while there is also a strong possibility he could be Romelu Lukaku’s replacement.
Of players aged 21 and under in Europe’s top five leagues this season, only RB Leipzig forward Timo Werner (21) and Tottenham midfielder Dele Alli (17) have scored more goals than Ramirez (14).
