West Ham fear the worst for Bilic’s future

West Ham are prepared to sack Slaven Bilic and make a short-term appointment until the end of the season to secure their Premier League status, reports The Daily Telegraph.

The Hammers have moved dangerously close to the bottom three following a 3-0 defeat to Arsenal in midweek, which was their six straight defeat in the Premier League.

West Ham are now only five points above the drop zone and that gap could have been even smaller had Swansea, who occupy the final place in the relegation zone, had not thrown away a 1-0 lead against Tottenham with minutes remaining to lose 3-1 on Wednesday.

West Ham fear the worst for Bilic’s future

The east London outfit would be reluctant to let Bilic go and would like to see him at the club next season but a hugely underwhelming campaign has pushed the 46-year-old closer to the exit door and he could be sacked should West Ham lose to Swansea this weekend.

Since the start of February only Sunderland (4 points) and Middlesbrough (2) have collected more points in the Premier League than West Ham (5).
