Tottenham set to cash in on underwhelming pair

Tottenham are prepared to cash in on right-back pair Kieran Trippier and Serge Aurier this summer as they look to revamp their squad, reports the Sun.

By his own admittance, Trippier has underwhelmed this season, with the England right-back failing to match his performance levels of the 2018 World Cup.

Aurier, meanwhile, has failed to make the desired impact following his arrival from PSG and the club are willing to listen to offers for the Ivorian.

Everton could well renew their interest in Trippier, with the Toffees previously linked with a move for the 28-year-old.

Trippier has two years left to run on his current deal with Spurs and Everton are confident that a £20m bid would be enough to convince their Premier League counterparts to sell.

Spurs paid around £23m to sign Aurier in 2017 as a Kyle Walker replacement, but he would be available for half that with the club keen to move the 26-year-old on.

That would leave Kyle Walker-Peters as Spurs’ only senior right-back, but the north London side are eager to secure a new full-back should the pair leave at the end of the season.

Crystal Palace’s Aaron Wan-Bissaka is high on Spurs’ wishlist, while Norwich City’s Max Aarons has also been linked with a move to the capital.
