Atlético Madrid have reached a deal to sign Luciano Vietto from La Liga rivals Villarreal for a reported £14m.
Vietto, 21, will take part in training on Wednesday before putting pen to paper on a six-year deal.
"Atletico de Madrid and Villarreal have reached an agreement for the transfer of Luciano Vietto to our entity," a statement on Atletico's official website said.
"It is expected that the transfer of the Argentinian forward will be formalised this Wednesday, that the striker trains with his new team-mates in the first session of pre-season, and to subsequently sign his new contract, which will link him to our club for the next six seasons."
The Argentina U20 international scored 18 goals for Villarreal last season, which was the most by a player aged 21 or under in Europe’s top 5 leagues.
