Arsene Wenger promised David Ospina he would be his No.1 goalkeeper for Champions League matches in the summer, according to Get French Football.
Ospina, 28, was a surprise selection by Arsene Wenger for their opening group match against Paris Saint-Germain on Wednesday but the Colombian international turned in a huge performance to keep his side in the game.
However, it has now emerged that the Arsenal manager promised Ospina this role during the summer, which persuaded him to ignore offers from other clubs.
Ospina made three saves against PSG in midweek before Alexis Sanchez’s equaliser late on gave them the most unlikely of points.
