Man City Injury News: Ake out, Foden and Savinho to return?

Manchester City welcome Brentford to the Etihad Stadium on Saturday afternoon as the defending champions look to maintain their 100% start to the season.

City have claimed wins over Chelsea, Ipswich and West Ham to kick off the campaign, and they'll fancy their chances of putting another three points on the board when they take on the Bees this weekend.

Ahead of the welcome of Brentford, here’s the current injury state of play for City...

Oscar Bobb

Oscar Bobb suffered a fractured leg in training last month, which was a blow for both player and club. Indeed, Bobb was expected to consolidate a regular first team spot for Manchester City this season but he'll be out until December following surgery.

Nathan Ake

While Manchester City came through the international break relatively unscathed, they still lost Nathan Ake to a thigh injury in the Netherlands' 2-2 draw with Germany in midweek. "It looks like a muscle injury for Nathan Ake, though I am not certain," Pep Guardiola said of the Dutchman this week. There is currently no timeline on the defender's return.

Phil Foden

After pulling out of the England squad for their UEFA Nations League meetings with Ireland and Finland due to illness, Phil Foden will be checked ahead of Saturday to determine his availability. Nevertheless, Foden should be fine to feature in some capacity this weekend.

Savinho

Another who will be checked, Savinho missed the 3-1 win at West Ham prior to the international break due to a knee issue, while he wasn't involved for Brazil in meetings with Ecuador and Paraguay this month. "Hopefully, with ten days off, he can be back after the international break," Guardiola said at the start of the month, so the summer signing is likely to be fine to feature.
