Bart Verbruggen (Brighton) - 8.47
Dutch goalkeeper Bart Verbruggen helped Brighton to a third clean sheet of the season - and a huge three points - against Newcastle at St James’ Park on Saturday. The 22-year-old made a total of six saves against the Magpies, with five of those denying shots from inside the penalty area.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka (West Ham) - 7.70
Despite his side’s eventual 4-1 defeat at the hands of Tottenham in Saturday’s early kick-off, former Manchester United man Aaron Wan-Bissaka can hold his head high after a solid performance on the right flank. The 26-year-old completed all four of the dribbles he attempted and won all five of the tackles he attempted, while he also made four clearances, four interceptions and four ball recoveries, on his way to a WhoScored rating of 7.70.
Michael Keane (Everton) - 8.08
In the absence of the injured Jarrad Branthwaite, 31-year-old Everton defender Michael Keane continues to deputise in impressive fashion. Keane netted his second league goal of the season in Saturday’s victory over Ipswich - and in some style too - ripping a left-footed effort into the roof of Ari Muric’s net from a tight angle. Keane also completed 90% of the passes he attempted (38/42), and five of the six long balls he attempted, while also making a tackle, seven clearances and two ball recoveries, for a WhoScored rating of 8.08.
Ethan Pinnock (Brentford) - 8.36
Brentford defender Ethan Pinnock scored in back-to-back Premier League matches when he headed the Bees in front at Old Trafford on Saturday afternoon. The 31-year-old also recorded a 95% pass success rate (62/65), while he also made four tackles, eight clearances and won all four of his ground duels.
Destiny Udogie (Tottenham) - 8.15
Tottenham left-back Destiny Udogie turned in his best rated performance of the Premier League season so far in Saturday’s win over West Ham, providing the assist for Yves Bissouma to put the hosts ahead seven minutes into the second half. That assist came from one of three key passes made by the young Italian, who also managed three tackles and four ball recoveries, to earn a WhoScored rating of 8.15.
Curtis Jones (Liverpool) - 8.28
On only his second league start so far this season, Liverpool midfielder Curtis Jones scooped the Player of the Match award after a fine showing in Sunday’s win over Chelsea. The 23-year-old won a penalty for the hosts in the first half, before finding the net himself six minutes into the second. Jones also made two key passes, one successful dribble, three tackles and six ball recoveries, to land a WhoScored rating of 8.28.
Casemiro (Manchester United) - 8.16
The first of two Manchester United players to make our Team of the Week is Brazilian midfielder Casemiro, who returned to Erik ten Hag’s starting XI for the first time since the defeat to Liverpool in September. Against Brentford, the 32-year-old made four key passes, five tackles, four clearances and six ball recoveries, while winning 11 of his 16 duels, in a vintage showing.
Facundo Buonanotte (Leicester) - 8.55
On loan from Brighton, Leicester winger Facundo Buonanotte netted a third league goal of the season in the stunning comeback victory over Southampton on Saturday. The 19-year-old attacker now has five direct goal involvements to his name in five league starts for the Foxes.
Elliot Anderson (Nottingham Forest) - 8.65
With a WhoScored rating of 8.65, Nottingham Forest midfielder Elliot Anderson is our Premier League Player of the Week, following a fine display in the victory over Crystal Palace on Monday evening. Anderson misplaced just two of the 38 passes he attempted on the night, while he also managed five key passes, four shots, nine touches in the opposition box, six successful dribbles and 11 duels won.
Alejandro Garnacho (Manchester United) - 8.46
Rounding off our Team of the Week is Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho, who scored his second league goal of the campaign in the win over Brentford on Saturday, finding the net with a perfectly taken volley shortly after half-time. The 20-year-old also made two key passes, two successful dribbles, three tackles and two interceptions, on his way to a WhoScored rating of 8.46.
Chris Wood (Nottingham Forest) - 7.59
Nottingham Forest striker Chris Wood netted his fifth league goal of the season on Monday evening, the only goal of the game as Nuno Espirito Santo’s side saw off Crystal Palace at the City Ground. Wood, who has scored in three of his last four league appearances, found the net with one of four shots on goal, while he also made one key pass and won five duels, for a WhoScored rating of 7.59.
