Former Chelsea manager Conte agrees to take over at Inter

Antonio Conte is ready to end his managerial exile and return to Italy to manage Inter, reports The Guardian.

Conte has been out of work since being sacked by Chelsea at the end of the 2017/18 campaign.

Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain have both express an interest in Conte since then but the 49-year-old has opted to manage Inter.

Inter are currently fourth in Serie A with one game left to play and are expected to clinch Champions League football for next season.

Conte will reportedly put pen to paper on a three or four-year deal with the Serie A giants and is said to be excited about transforming Inter into title challengers.

Inter already have the perfect defenders to implement Conte’s preferred back three, while the Serie A side are now being heavily linked with Manchester United duo Alexis Sanchez and Romelu Lukaku, two players he wanted to sign during his time at Chelsea.

Inter last won Serie A under Jose Mourinho back in 2010 and chief executive Beppe Marotta is thought to have played a key role in convincing Conte after working with him at Juventus between 2011 and 2014.

Conte led Chelsea to a shock Premier League title in his first season at the helm of the Blues before winning the FA Cup final in his last game in charge of the Premier League outfit.

Conte hasn’t managed domestically in Italy since leaving Juventus in 2014, where he finished a three-year spell with a win rate of 70.9%.
