No bids for Wilson, says Bournemouth manager

Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe insists the club have not received any offers for star striker Callum Wilson this month.

Wilson has emerged as January targets for Chelsea and West Ham this month as both Premier League clubs look to bolster their offensive options.

Chelsea assistant manager Gianfranco Zola confirmed in the build up to January that they were interested in Wilson but are unlikely to approach the Cherries.

The Blues are on the verge of signing Gonzalo Higuain on loan from Juventus and his arrival would dispense with the need to get Wilson.

West Ham have made Wilson a priority if they sell Marko Arnautovic this month, though Howe insists there have been no offers for the England international.

“We’ve had no interest in any of our players,” Sky Sports quote Howe as saying on Friday. “Everything has just been speculation, which you understand as this is the month for it.

“From my perspective and the team we have above me, we are always working together to try and find solutions to make the squad stronger and continue to move the team forward.

“They’re the main things. We’ll do that again, like we have done through the process that we’ve been together, for the benefit of Bournemouth. No interest or no actual enquiries? No, nothing.”

No bids for Wilson, says Bournemouth manager

Wilson has been forced to overcome two serious knee injuries in his career and now the 26-year-old is playing the best football of his career.

His performances have even resulted in international recognition with England and he scored on his Three Lions debut against USA.

Wilson has scored nine goals and provided five assists in 20 league appearances this season, his best return in a Premier League campaign and there are still 16 league games to go.
