Chelsea will firm up their interest in Danny Rose with a £50m offer for the Tottenham defender just hours after they face their London rivals on Sunday, reports The Sun.
Rose has been heavily linked with a move away from Tottenham since making revealing comments about the club’s ambition and wage structure at the start of the month.
The England international is also a target for Manchester United, but Chelsea look set to make the first move for the 27-year-old, although it remains to be seen whether their rivals are even willing to sell the left-back.
Rose is still recovering from a knee injury that has kept him sidelined since January and isn’t expected to return to first-team action until after the international break next month.
Tottenham are the only Premier League side yet to sign a single player this summer and they have already lost Kyle Walker to Manchester City in a deal worth £50m.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side are due to face Chelsea at Wembley on Sunday afternoon and the reigning Premier League champions will look to test their resolve shortly afterwards after accepting defeat in their pursuit of Juventus defender Alex Sandro.
Of players that have made at least 15 appearances in the Premier League since the start of last season, Rose has the highest rating of all left backs (7.42).
