Chelsea man keen on Stamford Bridge stay

Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas is keen to sign a new deal with the Premier League champions, despite rumoured interest from Manchester United, reports the London Evening Standard.

Fabregas joined Barcelona in 2014 and has just 18 months left to run on his current deal with the west London outfit, who face United on Sunday.

The Spaniard was heavily linked with a move away from Antonio Conte’s side last year after falling out of the first team reckoning under the Italian.

However, the 30-year-old appears to have nailed down a first team berth this term having started eight of 10 Premier League matches this season.

United boss Jose Mourinho is keen to reunite with Fabregas at Old Trafford, but the midfielder has insisted that staying at Chelsea is the priority, even if no new agreement is imminent.

“Would I like to renew? Yes, because it is a club that has always treated me well,” Fabregas told the London Evening Standard.

“I believe the fans have a lot of respect for me and I have a lot of respect for them. I have given my all for the club for the last three-and-a-half years.

“This is a fantastic club for me and I have had a fantastic time here. Hopefully another contract will happen. Time will tell.”
