Everton have confirmed Fabian Delph’s arrival from Manchester City on a three-year deal running until the summer of 2023.
The Toffees have agreed an initial £8.5m deal with the Premier League champions plus a further £1.5m in performance related add-ons.
Delph has secured a move away from City after dropping down the pecking order in the last six months.
City broke their club-transfer record to sign Rodrigo from Atletico Madrid earlier in the summer to further limit Delph’s prospects of regular playing time next season.
Added to that, City have opted against selling Ilkay Gundogan this summer despite the fact the Germany international is on course to leave for nothing next summer.
Delph is Everton’s third signing of the summer following Jonas Lossl’s arrival from Huddersfield on a free transfer and Andre Gomes’ permanent switch from Barcelona.
The England international started just 31 Premier League matches in three seasons under Pep Guardiola and was limited to just 11 league appearances in total last term.
