Tottenham consider shock move for ex-Man City keeper Hart

Former Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart has emerged as a shock transfer target for Tottenham manager Jose Mourinho, reports The Daily Telegraph.

Tottenham need a new reserve goalkeeper following Michel Vorm's departure and Mourinho has earmarked Hart as the ideal candidate due to his homegrown status.

The north London outfit are at risk of being forced to name a reduced squad in both the Premier League and Europa League as they currently do not fill their homegrown quota.

Kyle Walker-Peters' move to Southampton has left Tottenham even more at risk and now Mourinho's side are pushing ahead with signing Hart.

The 33-year-old last made an appearance in the Premier League in the 2018/19 campaign when he started 19 times for Burnley.

Hart is currently a free agent after being released by Burnley at the end of last season and is now set for his Tottenham medical.

The former England international is not expected to feature for Tottenham in the league but help push Hugo Lloris and current deputy Paulo Gazzaniga.

Hart has nearly managed as many errors leading to an opposition shot (7) than he has clean sheets (8) in his last 38 Premier League appearances.
