Gianluigi Donnarumma’s agent holds talks with Premier League giants
Manchester United held talks with Gianluigi Donnarumma’s agent Mino Raiola about a potential transfer for the AC Milan starlet this summer, reports Calciomercato.
Donnarumma, 18, is regarded as the best young goalkeeper in Europe since becoming the youngest ever goalkeeper to start in a Serie A game back in October 2015.
A host of Europe’s biggest clubs have been linked with a move for the Milan starlet and his suitors were given encouragement in their pursuit after Raiola revealed Donnarumma deserved to play for a big team.
Milan’s proposed takeover has been delayed once again and that only appears to be pushing the Italy international closer to the exit door this summer, as Europe’s biggest clubs circle.
United are one of the sides that have been linked with his signature and Jose Mourinho may be forced to find a new goalkeeper this summer if they fail to keep him out of Real Madrid’s clutches.
The Red Devils are reportedly ready to shell out £43m on his signature and have even held talks with Raiola, with whom they struck up a good relationship with last summer after signing three of his clients.
Since making his debut for Milan only Gianluigi Buffon (28) has kept more clean sheets in Serie A than Donnarumma (19).
