Chelsea midfielder open to Juventus move

The agent of Chelsea midfielder Jorginho has refused to rule out a move to Juventus to reunite with Maurizio Sarri this summer.

Jorginho followed Sarri from Napoli to Chelsea 12 months ago in a blockbuster £50m deal but Sarri has already returned to Italy.

Reports have already emerged suggesting Sarri also wants to bring Jorginho to Juventus and the player’s agent, Joao Santos, has suggested a move could happen and his Napoli past won’t be a stumbling block.

“Chelsea have a four-year contract with the lad,” he told The Daily Mirror. “We’ll wait a few days to figure out whether there is any truth in this interest.

“His past at Napoli won’t be an issue, because Jorginho is a professional. Right now, Jorginho is happy at Chelsea. He found a great atmosphere and we can’t really say that he’d like to go elsewhere, but anything can happen on the transfer market. We’ll wait and see..”

Jorginho endured a difficult first season in the Premier League and his future in Chelsea’s midfield is uncertain.

Sarri made the bold decision to move N’Golo Kante out of his best position to get Jorginho in the team but it’s unclear whether his successor will opt for the same tactic.

Jorginho attempted more passes (3118) than any other player in the Premier League last season but there was a stark lack of cutting edge passing from the Italy international. In fact, the 27-year-old created a goalscoring opportunity every 103.9 passes.
