Barcelona lodge third bid for Manchester United target

Barcelona have lodged a third bid, believed to be in excess of £55m, for Manchester United target and Chelsea attacker Willian, reports Sky Sports.

The La Liga champions are eager to add the Brazilian to the squad before the start of the season season and have already seen two bids rejected for the 29-year-old.

Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho is a keen admirer of the Brazil international, but Barcelona now appear to be in pole position to secure his services.

However, talks remain ongoing between the two clubs and representatives of the player with the Blaugrana eager to lure him to Camp Nou.

Willian was voted the Chelsea players’ player of the season having scored six and registered seven assists in the Premier League for the Blues last term, returning a WhoScored rating of 7.01.

The attacker, though, was left out of Chelsea’s starting XI in the 1-0 FA Cup final win over Manchester United back in May and despite Antonio Conte’s departure, Willian is still looking to leave Stamford Bridge.

Willian started all five of Brazil’s World Cup matches prior to their quarter-final exit at the hands of Belgium as he returned a dribble success rate of 91.7% in Russia.
