West Ham defender set for shock Chinese Super League move
Newly promoted Chinese Super League side Dalian Yifang have agreed a €5.5m (£4.9m) deal with West Ham for centre-back Jose Fonte, claims The Daily Record.
Fonte only joined West Ham from Southampton just over 12 months ago but has endured a torrid time in east London and is now on the verge of leaving.
The Portugal international has reportedly agreed personal terms to a three-year deal with the Chinese side and will fly to Asia on Monday to complete his transfer.
Dalian Yifang are also in talks with Atletico Madrid to sign Yannick Carrasco, as they look to add high-profile names to their squad ahead of the new season.
Fonte has been sidelined since suffering a foot injury at the end of October but has recently returned to full fitness.
Since the start of 2017, West Ham have a better win ratio in the Premier League without Fonte starting (31.8%) compared to when he has started (25%).
