Christian Eriksen is stalling on signing a new Tottenham deal increasing fears the creator will angle for a move away in the future, claims the London Evening Standard.
The Denmark international has entered the final 18 months of his existing deal and Tottenham are desperate to tie Eriksen down to a new long-term contract.
Eriksen has spent more than five years at Tottenham and developed into one of the best attacking midfielders in the Premier League in that time.
Real Madrid and Barcelona have both been heavily linked with a move for the 26-year-old in the past and will be watching Eriksen’s future closely.
Tottenham offered Eriksen a fresh offer last month and are reportedly willing to double his current £75,000-a-week contract but the Dane is in no rush to pledge his long-term future to the club.
Eriksen will only have 12 months left to run on his deal at the end of the season and that will only invite more interest from Tottenham’s rivals.
The Tottenham ace has rediscovered his best form over the festive period, netting in four of his last five Premier League matches.
Furthermore, since August 2016, only Kevin De Bruyne (34) has provided more assists than Eriksen (32) in the Premier League.
