WBA agree fee for United defender

West Bromwich Albion have agreed a fee in principle with Manchester United for defender Jonny Evans, according to BBC Sport.

Evans has been heavily linked with a move away from Old Trafford this summer after falling significantly down the pecking order under Louis van Gaal.

The Northern Ireland international has only started 12 Premier League games since Van Gaal took over at United last summer and is yet to feature in any of their league games this season.

The 27-year-old has been at United since he was nine and has won three Premier League titles and two League Cups since he made his United debut in 2006.

However, he is now expected to travel to the Midlands on Saturday to thrash out terms with West Brom ahead of completing a deal believed to be in the region of £6m plus add-ons.
