West Ham midfielder Pedro Obiang will miss the rest of the season after undergoing knee surgery, reports Sky Sports.
Obiang suffered medial ligament damage midway through the first half of West Ham’s 2-0 defeat to Wigan in the FA Cup fourth round at the end of last month.
The 25-year-old underwent knee surgery over the weekend and is now set to miss West Ham’s last 12 Premier League matches of the season.
It comes as a huge blow to manager David Moyes, who is already being forced to deal with a lengthy injury list.
Things are made worse as central midfield was an area of the pitch that the West Ham manager wanted to strengthen most during the January transfer window.
