Newcastle want to take Championship star with them to Premier League

Newcastle United are ready to match Fulham’s £10m valuation for Tom Cairney to take the midfielder with them to the Premier League next season, reports The Daily Mirror.

Rafa Benitez’s side are on the cusp of securing promotion and Newcastle are already preparing for life back in the Premier League with another summer of huge change expected at Saint James’ Park.

Cairney, 26, has enjoyed a sensational campaign with Fulham this season but is keen to prove himself at the top after failing to make it with Hull during the 2009/10 campaign in the Premier League.

The Fulham No.10 has even earned his Scotland debut off the back of his performances in the Championship this season and Benitez is keen to have the midfielder at the heart of their Premier League campaign next year.

Cairney is the only player in the Championship that has registered more double figures for goals and assists this season.
