Aston Villa have announced they have signed Tottenham youngster Josh Onomah on a season-long loan deal.
The Championship outfit have acted quickly to find a replacement for Jack Grealish, who could end up missing up to six months of the season after undergoing kidney surgery.
Mauricio Pochettino is usually reluctant to loan out his Tottenham youngsters but there will be limited game time at the club next season and he has given Onomah the green light to find regular playing time elsewhere.
“I can’t wait to get started,” he told Villa’s official website. “This is a huge football club and I want to really make my mark here and prove to be a player the manager can rely on.
“I know that promotion is the aim and I am here to help us achieve that.”

Onomah played a key role in England U20’s success at the World Cup earlier this summer and started five of their seven matches on their way to beating Venezuela 1-0 in the final.
However, the 20-year-old was only limited to 26 minutes of action for Tottenham across league and European action last season, failing to start a single match.
