Leeds agree shock deal for Wolves ace

Leeds have launched a shock move to sign Wolves left-back Barry Douglas and are confident of getting a deal over the line, reports The Daily Mail.

Douglas was a revelation for Wolves last season and played an integral part in the club’s Championship-winning campaign.

The Scotland international was regarded as one of the most influential defenders in the Championship and looked set to take the next step in the Premier League.

However, Wolves are reportedly on the cusp of signing Spanish defender Jonny from Atletico Madrid and the newly promoted Premier League club are now prepared to cash in on Douglas.

Leeds agree shock deal for Wolves ace

New Leeds manager Marcelo Bielsa has acted quickly in an attempt to beat their Championship rivals and have even agreed a fee with Wolves for his services.

The 28-year-old garnered an impressive WhoScored rating of 7.41 in the Championship last season after playing a direct hand in a staggering 19 goals from left wing-back (five goals, 14 assists).

In fact, only Robert Snodgrass supplied as many assists as Douglas in the Championship last term (14). The Scots impressive performances for Wolves even earned him a place in the WhoScored Team of the Season.
