Tottenham captain Hugo Lloris was charged with drink driving in the early hours of Friday morning, talkSPORT have revealed.
Lloris failed a breathalyser test at 2.20am after being pulled over by officers in central London and reportedly spent around seven hours in custody at Charing Cross Police station.
The 31-year-old, who captained France to World Cup glory in the summer, will attend a hearing at Westminster magistrates court on September 11, four days before Tottenham are due to play Liverpool.
Tottenham are away to Manchester United on Monday night and news of Lloris' arrest, one of the most senior members at the club, is not ideal preperation for Pochettino's side.
Pochettino had already completed his pre-match press conference duties by the time news broke of Lloris' misdemeanour and it remains to be seen whether he will be considered against rivals United.
Lloris has played in both of Tottenham's opening two league games and Pochettino's side will hope to maintain their 100 per cent start to the season against Mourinho's side.
Since August 2016, only David De Gea (32) and Thibaut Courtois (31) have kept more clean sheets than Lloris (30) in the Premier League.
