Real Madrid are interested in using Gareth Bale as bait to prise Christian Eriksen away from Tottenham this summer, claims The Daily Mirror.
Bale has endured a miserable campaign in Spain and now looks destined to leave Madrid at the end of the season.
Madrid president Florentino Perez has reportedly ran out of patience with the Wales international, who was booed off during their Clasico defeat on Saturday night.
Bale has been heavily linked with a move to Manchester United in recent years but he could actually be heading back to Tottenham.
Madrid are expected to firm up their interest in Eriksen at the end of the season when the Denmark international will only have 12 months left to run on his existing Tottenham deal.
Eriksen is not expected to renew with Tottenham and Madrid are open to using Bale as a makeweight to get a deal over the line.
Bale, who has been plagued with various injuries during his time at Madrid, has only managed 16 league starts this season and is below Lucas Vazquez in the pecking order for places.
Despite lacking regular playing time this season, only Karim Benzema (11) has scored more league goals than Bale (seven) for the club.
