Ivorian defender prefers Manchester United over Tottenham

Paris Saint-Germain defender Serge Aurier is said to favour a move to Manchester United over Premier League counterparts Tottenham, reports SFR Sport via the Sun.

The Ivorian is expected to leave the Parisian giants this summer as they aim to reduce their wage bill, though any move to England hinders any Aurier being granted permission to enter the country by the home office following a string of off-field incidents.

PSG are keen to sell to Spurs, who made an acceptable offer for the 24-year-old, while midfielder Adrien Rabiot has hinted that the defender is closing in on a move to the north London side.

However, Aurier is hoping that United will make a late swoop for him as he would rather move to Old Trafford than Mauricio Pochettino’s side.

Spurs are looking to sign a new right-back before the close of the transfer window following Kyle Walker’s £50m move to Manchester City.

Pochettino is able to call upon Kieran Trippier and Kyle Walker-Peters at right-back, though the former was at fault for Chris Wood’s goal in the 1-1 draw with Burnley and the latter inexperienced in the Premier League having made just one start in England's top tier.
