Manchester United scout Benfica sensation

Manchester United sent scouts to watch 19-year-old Benfica sensation Joao Felix in Tuesday night’s 5-1 win over Boavista, claims The Independent.

Felix has emerged as one of the hottest talents in Europe this season and was reportedly subject to interest from Liverpool earlier in the transfer window.

The teenage forward has also been earmarked as a transfer target for Bayern Munich if the Bundesliga giants fail to prise Callum Hudson-Odoi away from Chelsea in the summer.

United’s scouting team would have been impressed with what they saw from Felix in midweek, as the Portugal Under-21 international scored one and assisted another.

Felix has played a direct hand in seven goals in 11 league games this season, which is all the more impressive when you consider five of those appearances were as a substitute.

Of players to have started at least five Liga NOS matches this season, Felix requires the fewest minutes per goal or assist (every 71.3 minutes of action).
