Chelsea planning to steal a march on Bayer Leverkusen star
Chelsea are looking to steal a march on their Premier League rivals in the race to sign Leon Bailey from Bayer Leverkusen, reports the Sunday Express.
The 22-year-old has struggled for game time this season, with injuries restricting the young winger to just seven league starts.
However, Bailey has excelled when called upon having scored five goals and registered one assist for the free flowing Bundesliga outfit.
And his good form has seen Chelsea rekindle their interest in the Jamaica international having previously courted Bailey.
The Blues are likely to be active in the market when it opens as they look to secure the services of another winger.
Chelsea already have an agreement in place for Hakim Ziyech, who will join from Ajax over the summer.
With both Willian and Pedro out of contract in the summer, Blues boss Frank Lampard is looking to add another winger to the squad.
Jadon Sancho was previously the club's number one target, but Borussia Dortmund have slapped a huge price tag on the England international and with interest in the teen high, Chelsea could instead focus their attention on Bailey.
