Tottenham set to beat Arsenal and Liverpool to Chelsea man

Tottenham are set to beat off competition from Premier League rivals Arsenal and Liverpool in the race to sign Chelsea attacker Willian, reports The Daily Mail.

Willian is expected to leave Stamford Bridge as a free agent this summer with his contract expiring next month.

The Brazilian had hoped to secure at least a two-year deal with Chelsea, but with the Blues expected to only offer a one-year extension, Willian's career in west London is all but over.

The player and his family are settled in London, with the 31-year-old looking to continue plying his trade in the capital.

Liverpool had been credited with an interest in Willian, while Arsenal have pondered offering him at least a two-year contract to convince him to move to the Emirates Stadium.

However, it looks as though Spurs have won the race to land Willian, who would link up with Jose Mourinho once again.

Mourinho has been informed that his summer transfer budget has been slashed due to the Coronavirus pandemic, so he has to make use of the free agent pool.

Willian has created 19 goalscoring chances in the Champions League this season, that ranking second only to Real Madrid's Toni Kroos (22) in the competition.
