Tottenham can win the Champions League, claims January signing
Tottenham have what it takes to win the Champions League this season, claims January arrival Lucas Moura.
The Brazilian winger made his first appearance following his signing from PSG in the 2-2 draw with Juventus in the Champions League last week before netting on his full debut in a 2-2 draw with Rochdale at the weekend.
After fighting back from 2-0 down in Turin, Spurs remain one of a handful of unbeaten teams still in the competition and having witnessed much of the turnaround from the bench, Moura believes Spurs have what it takes to secure continental glory.
“I am 25 years old but I gained a lot of experience with PSG and I think I can help Tottenham. We have a lot of quality and a great structure and I think we can arrive at the end of the season with a trophy,” Moura is quoted as saying by the Daily Express.
“The Champions League? Why not? It is the most difficult competition but I think we have the capacity to win it, if we always think positively and work hard. We produced a big game against Juventus away.
“Every player wants to win trophies, to make history, and I am here to make history with my new friends, my new team-mates. I believe that because we have a lot of quality, a great structure – I am really impressed – and I think we can dream with the Champions League.”
Spurs will hope to secure their spot in the next round of the FA Cup next week when they welcome Rochdale to Wembley for their replay with the League One side.
